Close to Placerville, the view of the magnificent Sierras just to the east opens up to the delight of both pilot and passengers. Upon landing, the airport staff assists in parking and refueling giving visitors a chance to again admire the view of the snow-covered mountains in the distance.

A great day trip destination is Twin Lakes Trail ... a moderate hike in the Sierras starting at Wrights Lake. This is a beautiful trail through granite with many stream crossings rewarded at the end by the beautiful alpine lakes nestled in the surrounding snowy peaks. We suggest that you stop at Apple Hill on the way to buy some freshly picked fruit straight from the orchards. Twin Lakes Trail is a comfortable day hike with time left over to enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants in historic downtown Placerville before flying home.

In the winter, our destination upon landing is a little further east to the ski slopes. Either destination makes a wonderful trip with plenty of time to fly from our home airport and return the same day.

As visitors climb in the plane for their departure the often-heard comment is "it's a shame to leave so soon". Make El Dorado County your next 'day trip' adventure ...
