Valhalla Renaissance Faire
The Faire will take visitors to a county fair in late-1500's England, bringing back life in renaissance times. Living history exhibits, entertainment, children's shows, period food, beer and wine. Placerville Founder’s Day & 58th Annual Wagon Train
Help celebrate the city of Placerville’s Founder’s Day from over 150 years ago, just a few miles from where gold was first discovered in Coloma, California. Historic Main Street in Placerville closes to host living history exhibits, fire engine displays, hands-on demonstrations, gold-panning period games, contests and music, stagecoach rides, a working saloon, a decorated wheelbarrows display, antique farm equipment, cowboy poetry and more. Twilight Dance
The Community Center will host it's first dance. Big Band music will be the theme and musical requests are welcome. A "no-host" bar with wine and beer is also available. The Dogwood Garden Club will be selling raffle tickets for a "Romance Basket" (over $100 value). The drawing will be held during the final hour of the 8/12 Twilight Dance. Proceeds go to the Dogwood Garden Club in support of local charities. The Chamber is thrilled to partner with Serrano again this year to promote their Championship Golf Course and our wonderful community. The tournament, a scramble, is now open for registration. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place foursomes, longest drive and closest to the hole competition and a cheater hole and a chance to win a new car in the "hole in one" contest. Whitewater Wednesday
This event benefits the Western Slope Boys & Girl Club. The 12 mile trip through intermediate Class III rapids lasting about 3 hours and is topped off with an all-you-can-eat barbecue and an afternoon of volleyball and other activities. The event is slated to start around noon that day, when rafters will gather at Henningson/Lotus Park. The tickets for the event are $84 per person includes the all-you-can-eat barbecue and a t-shirt. Placerville Bell Tower Brewfest
This popular Placerville event will be hosted again by downtown merchants and will include a street closure for added enjoyment and safety for all patrons. Entertainment will be provided by a variety of live bands. Watching the bands and enjoying the atmosphere on a warm summer night on Main Street will be free, but if you are interested in sampling over 30 different micro-brews, tickets will need to be purchased for patrons over 21 years of age. 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Historic Main Street, Placerville. As in the past, tickets are limited and expected to sellout before that evening, so plan on getting them early.
