Winter Trails
REI & Kirkwood will be hosting "Winter Trails" a nation wide event with the goal to expose the public to snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Free snowshoe demos will be available through the day. A variety of snowshoes will be there to play with. There will also be various seminars offered throughout the day from avalanche safety and beacon use, GPS introductions, snowshoe tours. This annual event is the place to be for all your Spring home improvement idea-gathering and get-to-work on your honey-do lists. Patrons Scholarship Luncheon
The luncheon is a fundraiser to provide scholarships to El Dorado County high school seniors who wish to attend El Dorado Center and/or Folsom Lake College. Entertainment will be provided by F.L. College Chair 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Cold Springs Community Church, 2600 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville. Georgetown Nature Area "Arts in Nature Fest"
Docent-led hikes and nature activities throughout the day. Free arts and crafts activities for children. Performances by local children, musicians, poets and storytellers. Native American drumming circle and storytelling in Nature Area. Local water monitoring information. Native plants and herbs for sale. Sunday will feature flutes, music & open mike on stage. Many flute vendors will be there. Cool Contra Dance
The Cool Contra Dances will be held from January through May on the Fourth Saturday of each month. The Band that you can dance to is "Old Time Confusion". Instruction is at 6:30, and Full dancing will be from 7:00 to 10 p.m.  Pilot Hill Grange, in Cool. Earth Day Celebration 2008
