In the 1990s a group of farmers and other agricultural
professionals wanted to find a way to broaden the
recognition and appreciation of agriculture in El Dorado
County.
They formed the Farm Trails
Association and created a series
of designated “Trails” with
unique signs that provide directions
leading to the farm you
want to visit. If you are looking
for the best apples, peaches, cherries,
vegetables or Christmas
trees the Farm Trails system will
take you there.
You can have fun following the
trail year round because there is
always something ready to be harvested
for your enjoyment. The members of the Farm Trails
Association are friendly, helpful and always have a smile, and a
welcome hello to visitors and old friends.
Wine tasting is an ever increasing draw for visitors and wine
enthusiasts to the county, boasting nearly 60 wineries. One of the
biggest Bonsai nurseries in northern
California, numerous iris and lavender
farms, as well many alpaca farms are also
part of the Trail; and Apple Hill has won
national fame for its fall season of delights.
The El Dorado County Farm Trails
Association represents all of the many and
various agricultural pursuits throughout
the County. There are over 100 members
of the Farm Trails Association who are
looking forward to meeting you. Come to
El Dorado County and follow the Farm
Trails to enjoyment, great taste and
adventure.
