Art & Wine Festival

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 25 foothill wineries will offer tastings of their wines inside merchant locations on Historic Main Street, Placerville. In addition, the works of over 100 local artists will be on display for this wonderful art and wine walk. Hors d'oeuvres provided by merchants. Tickets are limited and will be available at several Main Street locations or with a credit card by calling (530) 672-3436. A Placerville Downtown Association event.


Jazz Jubilee

October 17, 2004
Jazz up your Sunday with nine Jazzin' Bands playing in Placerville at nine prime locations. Join the parade at 11:00 am, and then the music starts at noon. There will be a ten piece marching band, Red Hats & Jazz, Parasols & Sass, Jazz era autos, and a costume contest at 2:00 pm. The event is from noon to 5:00 pm and promises to be a great time for everyone. The location is Historic Main Street, Placerville. Advance badge price is $12 or event day $15. Trick or Treat on Main Street

October 31, 2004
Historic Main Street merchants will provide goodies to trick or treaters (while supplies last) in a safe and convenient environment. The Parade starts at the City Hall parking lot and proceeds down Historic Main Street, Placerville and ends at Benham Park where there will be a costume contest and bonfire. Downtown Main Street will be closed this year for this event. Candy will be handed out from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Parade starts at 5:30 pm. Historic Main Street, Placerville. Free to the public. 7th Annual Family Fall Festival

October 31, 2004
Come and join us for a safe, fun, family evening with carnival games, an indoor bounce house, crafts, face painting, music and lots of candy. Food will also be available for a nominal fee. 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Church of the Foothills - Family Life Center, 2380 Merrychase Drive, Cameron Park. For more information call (530) 677-3057.

Apple Hill Season
Those who have left the highway and driven through the orchards, vineyards and forests above Placerville know what Apple Hill is all about. Take the drive because everyone will enjoy it. Free Apple Hill shuttle from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm every weekend from September 27th to October 26th. Catch it at Schnell School every 15 to 30 minutes. Go to www.applehill.com or call (530) 644-7692.

Jazz and Blues in the Plaza
Every month, the 1st and 3rd Saturdays are Jazz, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays are Blues through October. High quality jazz and blues band performances change weekly. Come out and enjoy the great music with your community. 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Fountain Plaza behind the Historic Cary House Hotel on Historic Main Street, Placerville. Free to the public. 49er Family Festival
October 9-10, 2004
For two days Coloma will appear much as it did in the 1850's. A living history tent encampment with groups coming from all over California will interpret gold rush history. There will be sawmill demonstrations and re-enactments and much more fun. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Eight miles north of Placerville on Highway 49. All That Jazz
October 16, 2004

Guy Fawkes Celebration at Jack Russell Brewing Company
November 6, 2004. Our most popular annual celebration is back again with the addition this year of food and events continuing after the bonfire. There will be Indian food from Priya. Violin Concert at the Sequoia

El Dorado Custom Cycle Toy Run
November 14, 2004. The motorcycle run starts in Cameron Park and continues to the Bell Tower in Placerville. Collection of Toys for Tots at the Bell Tower to benefit local families in need. For more information call (530) 677-1501.

Festival of Lights Placerville
November 26, 2004. The old-fashioned festivities will close Historic Main Street and begin around 5:30 pm at various locations up and down Main Street. For more information call (530) 672-3436.
