21st Annual Hollywood in the Hills

November 6, 2004
This annual live and silent auction supports the El Dorado Women's Center and its mission to serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community. There will be 400 silent and live auction items, food, drink and music. This year's location is the Mercedes Benz of El Dorado Hills, 1000 Mercedes Lane, El Dorado Hills. Admission includes food, wine, entertainment, auction catalog and bidding number for $40 per person. Join the fun from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Call (530) 626-1450 for more information.


Apple Hill Harvest Run

November 7, 2004
8.5 mile run, 3.5 mile run/walk, 0.5 mile kids' fun run. All proceeds from the race to benefit Camino School. Age divisions: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-70+. Half mile kids run 8:30 am, 8.5 mile run 9:00 am, 3.5 mile run/walk 9:10 am. The motorcycle run starts in Cameron Park and continues to the Bell Tower in Placerville. Collection of Toys for Tots at the Bell Tower to benefit local families in need. 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring a toy for the kids. Historic Main Street, Placerville. Call (530) 677-1501 for more information.


Festival of Lights

November 26 , 2004
The old-fashioned festivities will close Historic Main Street and begin around 5:30 pm at various locations up and down Main Street with music, entertainment, Santa, stagecoach rides, and the Holly Jolly Trolley rides (to outlying parking lots). The tree lighting will be at the Courthouse at approximately 6:00 pm. The event hours are 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. For more information visit www.placerville-downtown or call (530) 672-3436.

Guy Fawkes Celebration at Jack Russell Brewing Company

Our most popular annual celebration is back again with the addition this year of food and events continuing after the bonfire. There will be Indian food from Priya. An orphan, Annie and her dog, Sandy, are placed in the lap of luxury for a week as a part of a publicity campaign for the rich and sometimes heartless Oliver Warbucks. The show will continue in the month of December. Show times vary. Tickets are $12 adults, $10 for seniors (55 and older), and $8 for students. Group rates available. Go down Historic Main Street, Placerville in an authentic stagecoach on November 29th & 30th and December 14th, 20th and 21st from noon to 4:00 pm.

Annual Historic Country Inn Holiday Tour
December 4-5, 2004. Tour 10 inns decked out in seasonal finery, meet the innkeepers and enjoy inn specialties and refreshments. Weekend tickets available, good for both Saturday & Sunday. Christmas in Coloma
December 12, 2004. Christmas in Coloma will have a huge pile of snow for visitors to enjoy. 1850's children's games, booths, Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus, musicians, food and more. 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park.
