Christmas in the Cellar

December 4, 2004
Enjoy music, a huge Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, hot mulled wine and delicious soup. Special vendors will be there with everything from tree skirts to wreaths, chocolates and gourmet nuts. And Madrona will be releasing its 2002 Late Harvest Zinfandel, perfect for the holiday season. Relax at Madrona Vineyards and enjoy this festive holiday event. 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.


27th Annual Christmas Parade

December 5, 2004
This big parade takes place rain or shine, and starts at the Mountain Democrat parking lot on upper Broadway in Placerville and continues down Main Street. The parade begins at 1:00 pm so don't miss this holiday tradition.


Christmas in Coloma

Santa and Mrs. Claus at Christmas in Coloma

December 12 , 2004
Christmas in Coloma will have a huge pile of snow for visitors to enjoy. 1850's children's games, such as bowling will be available. All craft booths will have hand made items. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be there along with musicians, food, chestnut roasting, carriage rides and much more. A great day for the entire family. 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Admission is $7 per car. For more information call (530) 295-2170.


New Year's Gala

December 31, 2004
This Gala promises to be "one of a kind" with Monte Carlo gaming tables, dancing to the music of band Bluefish and delectable culinary delights, party favors, and a champagne toast. Tickets are just $75 per person. This event will be from 8:30 pm till 12:30 am at the El Dorado Hills CSD, 1021 Harvard Way, El Dorado Hills. El Dorado County is THE Place to Get Your Christmas Tree
Each year, thousands of families come up to the beautiful forested foothills of El Dorado County to choose and cut their Christmas trees. We invite you to join in this delightful tradition. There are many types of trees to choose from such as Douglas Fir, Silver Tip, White Fir, Noble Fir, Scotch Pine, Norway Spruce, Monterey Pine, Incense Cedar and more. Annual Historic Country Inn Holiday Tour
December 4-5, 2004. Tour eight inns decked out in seasonal finery, meet the innkeepers and enjoy inn specialties and refreshments. Weekend tickets are available which are good for both Saturday and Sunday. Portion of proceeds benefit Snowline Hospice. Hours for this self-guided tour are Noon to 5:00 pm. Santa's Workshop Christmas Bazaar
December 4, 2004

Annie
December 2- 23, 2004

An orphan, Annie and her dog, Sandy, are placed in the lap of luxury for a week as a part of a publicity campaign for the rich and sometimes heartless Oliver Warbucks. Show times vary. Tea in Toyland
December 12 , 2004
This event is for children so all adults must be accompanied by a child. Children of all ages will enjoy the antics of the Cinnamon Bear. Tea and cookies will be served at each of three seatings: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm & 2:30 pm. All tickets sold in advance. Adults $6 and children $3. Coming in January

4th Annual All American Sock Hop featuring the Crew Cuts
Dust off those poodle skirts and get ready to do the hand jive Saturday, January 15, 2005. The Sock Hop will be held at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. The doors open at 7:00 pm, and dancing starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets for this event can be purchased ahead of time for $20 at the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, (530) 621-5885 or by visiting www.eldoradocounty.org. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

20th Annual Crab Feed
January 8, 2005. The El Dorado County Search & Rescue Council sponsors this event. Doors open at 6:00 pm, dinner at 7:30 pm, and dancing from 9:00 pm to Midnight. Held at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive. Tickets are $25 each. For more information contact Diane at (530) 677-4449.

Gold Discovery Day
January 22, 2005. This annual event celebrates the anniversary of James Marshall's momentous discovery of gold in the tailrace of Sutter's Mill. Join us for living history, interactive period trade demonstrations and gold rush music. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, 10 am to 4 pm. For more information contact (530) 622-3470.

2005 El Dorado Passport Weekend
Applications can only be postmarked on or after January 21, 2005. Nineteen wineries of the El Dorado Winery Association invite you to our annual Passport Weekend. Tickets are limited and we suggest that you get your application in early. This event will sell out. Weekends are April 9-10, 2005 or April 16-17, 2005.
