A Great Month for Skiing
Skiing

The resorts are telling us that March is the best month for skiing and other winter sports.

Visit the following sites to see all the activities they offer:
- Sierra-at-Tahoe (www.sierratahoe.com), 530-659-7453. FREE shuttle to South Lake Tahoe.
- Heavenly Ski Resort,www.skiheavenly.com, 1-800-2HEAVEN.

For road conditions, call the Caltrans Highway Information Network’s voice-activated number—1-800-427-7623 within California and Western Nevada, (916) 446-7623 from other locations.

For shuttle service from Sacramento to Sierra-at-Tahoe via Folsom and Placerville, call 530-541-7548 for schedule and seat reservations. The shuttle service ends March 31.

Placerville Walking Tour & Photo History
At the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, 542, Main Street, Placerville, ask for a copy of the brochure "Exploring Main Street Placerville: "Old Hangtown" and use it as a historical guide as you stroll up and down the street. Or look online, at http://visit-eldorado.com/day_trip.html

At the Chamber, purchase A New Book, "Placerville Reflections: a photo album of 'Old Hangtown'". Or call 530-621-5885. This book, published by the El Dorado County Historical Society and the El Dorado Museums Foundation, has a rich collection of pictures of this old mining town as it grew and changed from 1849 to the 1960s. The book is also available at the Placerville News Stand at 409 Main Street, by the Bell Tower.


Spring Blossoms and Apple Hill®
Apple Blossoms

April is the month to drive through Apple Hill® (Camino area, off of Rte 50) to see the beautiful fruit orchards in bloom. Apple Hill® is a wonderful place to walk, so park your vehicle, take your camera, and enjoy the blossoms and other beautiful Spring sights. If Spring arrives early, you may want to visit this month (March).

Expo 2003—County Business and Job Fair -March 15 at the Fairgrounds. Bring in your resume for evaluation, talk to local business leaders, visit the many exhibits of products and services. For info, visit www.eldoradocounty.org or call (530) 621-5885.

This event is FREE, with a FREE hot dog lunch for the first 500 visitors.

Third Saturday Nitelife Art Walk
