Thursday is Kid's Day, ages 13 and under are free until 6:30 pm. Friday - Western Days / Senior Day, 60 and over admission is $3. Saturday - Timber Days. Summer Solstice - El Dorado Wineries

June 19, 2004
Eighteen El Dorado wineries will celebrate Summer Solstice by keeping their tasting rooms open late on Saturday, June 19th and offering visitors a once-a-year opportunity to enjoy the longest Saturday of the year.

From 5:00 to 8:00 pm, guests will enjoy complimentary wine samples, light fare and a cool summer's eve. For a map and more information go to www.eldoradowines.org or call (800) 306-3956. Check out lodging and dining choices and make a weekend of it.

Father's Day At Boa Vista Orchards

Boa Vista Orchards will be celebrating with a Cherry Festival June 18th thru the 20th at 2952 Carson Road in Placerville. U-Pick Bing and Rainier cherries, fresh cherry and blackberry pies and turnovers. BBQ Tri-Tip sandwiches. Fresh summer fruits and vegetables and apple wine tasting.


Bell Tower Brewfest

June 26, 2004
6 pm to 9 pm on Historic Main Street, Placerville. This popular Placerville event will be hosted again by downtown merchants and will include a street closure for added enjoyment and safety. Tickets are limited so don't hesitate. Tickets will be on sale for $25 at River City Bank, The Gold Rush and The Winesmith. All ticket outlets are located on Main Street in Placerville. Third Saturday Night ArtWalk on Placerville's Historic Main St. from 6 to 9 pm. June 19th. Call (530) 672-3436.

Placerville Certified Farmer's Market is now open on Saturdays and continues each Saturday through mid-October. Top quality fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked breads, nursery items, honey, eggs, flowers and more. Ivy House parking lot.

Placerville Speedway. There are races every Saturday of each month. Bring out your family and friends to the speedway to have a nice evening of fun. Gates open at 5 pm. Placerville Speedway, 100 Placerville Drive. Adults $16, students $11 and children $4. Call (530) 626-3680 for more information.

Wagon Train
The Wagon Train will be rolling down Main Street, Placerville on June 26th between 2 pm and 3 pm. For information about Wagon Train activities in Pollock Pines on June 25th call (530) 644-6664.

"Imagination Summer" Musical Theater Arts Camp
Two dates, June 7-11th and June 14-25th. This is a two week session for 4th to 8th graders (ages 9-13). 9 am to noon. $175. For information contact Jolinda Crocker at (530) 642-2506.

The Taming of the Shrew
June 4-27 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 130 Placerville Drive, Placerville. Tickets are $13 and $10 for seniors and students. For information contact the Mother Lode Performing Arts Company at (530) 672-3322.

Annual 4th of July Celebration on June 26th
The day-long event begins at noon with crafts, carnival games, contests, local entertainment, raffles, food and refreshments, and a spectacular fireworks display over Cameron Park Lake. Noon to Dusk, Cameron Park Lake. For information go to www.cameronpark.org or call (530) 677-2231.


Coming in July

4th of July Family Blast at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds - 4 pm to 9:30 pm
All-American food, entertainment, old fashioned kids games and contests such as watermelon eating, gunnysack races, water balloon tossing, relays, and much more. Placerville Speedway is separate admission. Fireworks to start at nightfall. Admission - $2 per person walk-in, $3 parking, $10 per carload (drive-in includes parking and admission). El Dorado Hills Summer Concert Series 2004
July 9-23. The concerts are free and are co-sponsored by Kool 101.9. Craft fairs, local food merchants, children's bounce house fun and Karaoke contests will be featured on these evenings. 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. El Dorado Hills Community Park. Free admission. Sizzling Summer Sale - July 16-18
