Labor Day Weekend
Those who have left the highway and driven through the orchards, vineyards and forests above Placerville know what Apple Hill is all about... Take the drive the kids will love it! This year there is a free Apple Hill Shuttle from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekend from September 27th through October 26th. The shuttle will be picking up visitors every 15-30 minutes . Pick up site is Schnell School in Placerville. Located in Camino, CA, Apple Hill was once a fledgling association comprised of 16 original ranches. Today it boasts more than 50 ranches including Christmas tree growers, wineries and vineyards. Free to the public. www.applehill.com. For more information call (530) 644-7692.


Lest We Forget

This event is presented by the El Dorado County Joint Chambers of Commerce to honor Law Enforcement, Fire Protection, Emergency Services Personnel, Military and Veterans of El Dorado County. Refreshment stands will not be open so please bring your own water. Please: No alcohol, canned drinks, candles or any incendiary devices. 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A military flyover is anticipated at 7:00 p.m. From 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. join us in the bleachers for memorial services. Placerville Speedway is located in the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Free to the public. For information call (530) 621-5885.


Butterfly Concert

September 12, 2004
Concert on the Green by Sierra Symphony, El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 3:00 pm. Children’s activities and strolling musicians. Concert at 6:00 pm. Presale tickets are $15, at the gate $18, youth 12 & under $8. Sponsorships available (530) 642-2431 or 622-4218.


EDC Chamber Charity Golf Tournament

September 15, 2004
A portion of the proceeds will benefit CASA. Entry fee includes: green fees, cart fees, Range Balls, Commemorative golf hat, closest to pin, longest drive, raffle prizes, free beer, water & soda on the course and dinner. Call for more details or sign up online. 10:30 am registration, 12:00 pm Shotgun start, and dinner at 5:00 pm. Apple Mountain Golf Resort, 3455 Carson Rd., Camino, CA. $115 if paid by August 31st, after that date $135. Registration day of event if space available. Dinner only is $22. 2nd Annual "Evening in Art"

September 25, 2004
Enjoy a rare opportunity to view and purchase works of art by 20th century masters such as Chagall, Miro and Lempicka along with emerging masters such as Gaugy, Becker and Lazar. Some local artists will be featured as well.

A delightful evening is being planned with local wines, delicious food, a silent auction and music.
The El Dorado Dance Academy located in El Dorado Hills will host this spectacular evening. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased in El Dorado Hills at the El Dorado Dance Academy and Our House Defines Art and in Placerville at the EDC Chamber of Commerce, the El Dorado Arts Council and the Bookery. Antique Street Faire

The 16th Annual Antique Street Faire closes Main Street to host over 100 antique and collectible peddlers for this huge event. Food, refreshments, and more. 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Third Saturday Night ArtWalk on Placerville's Historic Main Street from 6 pm to 9 pm. September 18, 2004. Call (530) 672-3436.

Placerville Certified Farmer's Market. The PCFM is open on Saturdays and continues each Saturday through mid-October. Top quality fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked breads, nursery items, honey, eggs, flowers and more. Ivy House parking lot.

Jazz and Blues in the Plaza
Every month, the 1st and 3rd Saturdays are Jazz, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays are Blues until October. High quality jazz and blues band performances change weekly. Come out and enjoy the great music with your community. 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Fountain Plaza behind the Historic Cary House Hotel on Historic Main Street, Placerville. Free to the public. Hangtown September Sunday Car Show
September 5, 2004
Come out and enjoy pre-1977 American cars and trucks, all Harleys, and this year, "Special Invite to All F 150 H-D Ford trucks." There will be dash plaques, door prizes, event T-shirts, music, vendors, 50/50 raffle, special prize giveaways, and lots of grass & shade. Snack Bar will be hosted by the Hangtown Cruisin Assn. 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Dr., Placerville. $10 per entry at the Gate!!

Georgetown Founders Day
September 12, 2004
There will be cowboy reenactments, quilters, pottery, woodwork, entertainment, poetry, and fun. Period dress is encouraged to support the theme "150th Anniversary of Georgetown Fire Department." Moonlight in Margaritaville

Art & Wine Festival
October 16, 2004. 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 25 foothill wineries will offer tastings of their wines inside merchant locations on Historic Main Street, Placerville.  In addition, the works of over 100 local artists will be on display for this wonderful art& wine walk.  Hors d’oeuvres provided by merchants.  Tickets are limited and will be available at several Main St. locations or with a credit card by calling (530) 672-3436.  A Placerville Downtown Association event.
